Earring Mismatch

Isn't it amazing that the deeper you get into something, the more you unintentionally pick up and notice the minute details about such things.

There’s something confident and trendy about wearing mismatched earrings, perhaps because it is such a move away from the traditional view of earrings needing to match. It’s an easy way to update your collection of earrings and get creative. And for me it is a solution to always misplacing my earrings.

And the good news is this; it is one trend men can rock. The amazing thing is that this trend started from men themselves. 

It was a signature look for artist like Prince, Lil Nas and some members of the BTS group. And although weird on first sight, the more you look at it, the more enticed you become.

I noticed this trend in turkish movies and I knew this is one thing I must try out. And guess what? I love it so much.

If you want to join this trend or make use of those one earring instead of throwing them out, you must note the following;

1. It has to be a very detailed, big and bogus earring. 

More often than not a very simple earring or stud might not be the best option if you are going for the one earring look.

And when it comes to mismatch this rule still applies.

So a statement piece matched with a stud earring is totally acceptable. Your stud is useful after all. 

The asymmetrical earring trend really only has one rule: it has to be memorable. None of these looks is small or understated. These accessories are detailed, over-scaled and often hang all the way down to your shoulder.

2. Ensure they are similar.

But does wearing mismatched earrings means throwing on two earrings from different pairs? The experts say no! Your earrings shouldn’t look haphazard; there should be some correlation between the two sides. Either in theme, color or concept.

3. Ensure the earrings complement your outfit.

I believe most times matching plain and simple outfit with such  controversial accessory might be the bomb.

And do not say, accessories are not so important. They can take your fashion game from 1 to 100.
